The elder of the two boys in Kerala who were allegedly attacked by their stepfather, a seven-year-old, remains critical with a fractured skull. The younger child sustained injuries to his chin and teeth.
Thodupuzha: Kerala Police arrested a man in Thodupuzha for allegedly assaulting two boys on Friday. The man has been identified as Arun Anand, their stepfather. The incident occurred on Wednesday night.
According to sources, Anand has been charged with various sections of IPC, including 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
The elder of the two boys, a seven-year-old, remains critical with a fractured skull. His lungs were damaged, and he has been put on life support at Kolenchery medical college hospital. The younger child sustained injuries on his chin and teeth.
The victim’s head was allegedly smashed against the floor and struck with a stick. The incident reportedly, occurred on Wednesday while the boy was trying to protect his younger brother from being beaten up by Anand.
The victim underwent emergency surgery at a private medical college and his condition continues to remain unstable.
