Sri Lankan Navy officials arrest 2 men for practising banned spear-fishing technique

Galle: The Sri Lankan Naval personnel attached to the Southern Naval Command on Monday arrested two men, who engaged in the banned practice of spear-fishing in Boossa sea area, Pitiwella. The officials seized two spear guns and two kayaks used by the suspects.

The men were caught along with the illegally caught fish, spear guns and kayaks. The weapons used for spear-fishing were handed over to the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in Galle.
