Sri Lanka blasts: Body of Bengaluru man reaches city; injured friend undergoing treatment in Colombo hospital

Bengaluru: Purushotham, who was on a tour of Sri Lanka tour with his friend Nagaraj Reddy suffered injuries during one of the bomb blasts in Sri Lanka on April 21. Reddy died in the blast and his mortal remains have reached Bengaluru. The Indian Embassy in Sri Lanka confirmed that Purushotham is undergoing treatment in Colombo and his family members are with him. Latest reports claim Purushotham will be brought to Bengaluru by air ambulance and will be admitted at Manipal Hospital in the city for further treatment. It is said that he was admitted to hospital in Colombo 20 minutes after the blast. 

On Tuesday night, Home minister MB Patil at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru received the bodies of several Indians including four of the seven JD(S) workers who were on vacation.

Reddy’s mortal remains was sent to MS Ramaiah Hospital for an autopsy and was later taken to Reddy's house in BTM Layout this morning. The final rites is scheduled to be held in BTM Layout at 12 PM today (April 24).
