Pathanamthitta: Controversy surrounds the famous Kerala shrine as the Sabarimala temple will open its doors for the annual 10-day festival on March 11 at 5pm. The devotees will no doubt be wary of women of menstruating age making attempts to enter the shrine. There is the likelihood of women visitors even though the review petitions on the matter is still pending in court.

The 10-day festival will end on March 21. The temple will also have a new gold-plated door installed during the opening day of this year’s festival. The new holy door, made of quality teakwood, is plated with four kilograms of gold with copper engraving.
