The Enforcement Directorate in its report to the Ministry of Home Affairs said that an organisation called the Rehab India Foundation, linked to the Popular Front of India was instrumental in fanning the protests over the new citizenship law.

The ED said that an analysis of the bank accounts of the PFI suggested that the organisation received Rs 120.5 crore, which was either withdrawn on the same day or within three days. There has been a growing demand to impose a ban on the PFI. In fact, the NIA had submitted a detailed dossier to the MHA, explaining why the outfit should be banned. This is Simplified by Ajay Joseph.
