Rain Gods bless Chennai; city gets respite from scorching heat, water crisis

Chennai: After months of dry spell and severe water crisis, Chennai finally gets rain.
The weatherman had earlier predicted that the system over the Bay of Bengal was likely to lead to a change in wind direction, bringing in the much-needed respite from scorching heat.
Chennai had been recording temperatures above 40 degree Celsius due to hot, dry winds from the north and northwest.
