Punjab artist pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi with oil painting

Amritsar: Ahead of Gandhi Jayanti, an artist from Amritsar in Punjab has created an oil painting of Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi). The oil painting is 5 feet and 7 inches in size. Jagjot Singh Rubal took over a week to create the painting and spent Rs 5,000 to prepare it. Speaking to ANI he said, 'On the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, I have created this painting and I wish to dedicate it to him.

I want to gift this painting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi so that he can place it inside the Gandhi ashram in Gujarat. Mahatma Gandhi is the father of the nation and because of him our country is quite well to do." Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary (October 2) is celebrated worldwide as the International Day of Nonviolence. He has also previously made paintings of Donald Trump, Barack Obama, Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan and presented it to them.
