Prostitution racket busted in Mangaluru; 3 arrested, 2 Bengal women rescued

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru city crime branch (CCB) has arrested three persons for running a prostitution racket in Mangaluru. Two women from West Bengal have been rescued.

The accused have been identified as Chandrashekhar, Nasir and Ashok. The lodge owner is absconding.

The CCB received a tip-off about the racket that was operating from a hotel in Bejai area and raided the lodge. Police seized five mobile phones, an Alto car and cash of Rs 19,500 from the accused.

The raid was carried out under the direction of police commissioner Sandeep Patil, DCP law and order Hanumantharaya, DCP crime and traffic Uma Prashath. The operation was carried out by the CCB police inspector Shantaram Kundar, economic and narcotic police inspector Ramakrishna and team.

The arrested have been handed over to the economic and narcotic police station for further action.
