Anantapur: A migrant family from Karnataka that had settled in Anantapur has lost a two-and-a-half-year-old girl child to hunger.
The toddler consumed sand in her bout of hunger and died, three days ago.
Mahesh and Nilaveni are daily wage labourers, sometimes they have no money to spend leaving the family hungry.
The couple had earlier lost a 10-year-old child, now they have lost a two-and -a-half year old girl simply because of the lack of nutritious food. The child was buried in a plot of land close to their tent.
The couple and the family lead a hand-to mouth existence and Mahesh is unable to sustain the needs of his family.
