Pollachi assault case: Students protest ends in conflict with police

Pollachi: Within a day after the Pollachi assault case was handed over to the CBI, several students in Tamil Nadu gathered in front of the Pollachi Municipality office on Palakkad road in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday and raised slogans demanding the arrest of the accused.

As the number of students increased and the protest intensified, police officials promised to take action against the culprits. However, the protesters demanded that the promise be given in writing. During the course of conversation, the crowd grew increasingly violent and the police resorted to lathi charge in order to disperse protesters.
