Plastic Bag Free Day: Karnataka school students organise flash mob, distribute cloth bags

Bengaluru: RV Public school students initiated a march on International Plastic Bag Free Day, from their school to Lalbagh, raising slogans to eliminate the use of plastic. The students distributed cloth bags to street vendors urging them to refrain from using plastic bags. They also organised a flash mob which communicated the harmful effects of plastic bags and how the use of cloth bags will benefit the environment.

The principal of the school, Sarah Abraham spoke to MyNation stating that though it would be difficult for everyone to carry a cloth bag always, this small step could help save the environment.
