Onion vendor murders coolie to claim insurance in Karnataka

Davanagere: An onion vendor in Davanagere murdered a coolie, Veeresh. According to sources, the vendor, Guranna, killed the coolie for want of insurance money, after a car met with an accident. After murdering him, Guranna allegedly wanted to portray that his son Mrutyunjaya was killed in a road accident so that he could claim insurance.

As the news spread, Ranebennur police arrived at the scene and took stock of the situation. The accused have been arrested. Members of the family of the deceased staged a protest to demand justice for the victim.
