North Karnataka, Maharashtra: Army pesonnel, rescuers receive rakhis from civilians

Belagavi: Members of the Shri Brahami Swadyay Mahila Mandal Chikkodi in Karnataka’s Belagavi tied rakhis to Army personnel who had been involved in rescue operations in the region. Floods had wreaked havoc in North Karnataka and Maharashtra.

But despite the rains and floods, civilians tied rakhis to Army personnel in Sangli district of Maharashtra. Rakhi is celebrated by sisters tying a sacred thread around the wrists of their brothers.
