Two people with 245kg of Kerala cannabis were captured by naval personnel during a patrol in the northern seas on Saturday morning. It is speculated by the Kerala Navy that the persons may have been trying to smuggle the cannabis to Sri Lanka via sea route. A group of personnel from the Northern Naval Command apprehended these people during a patrol carried out at Veththilakerni in the seas. The suspects would be handed over to the police along with the cannabis, after which legal action will be initiated.
