Cyclone Fani: Naval Dornier aircraft conducts aerial survey; extensive devastation around Puri

Puri: The Naval Dornier aircraft on Friday carried out an aerial survey in Odisha to assess the impact of the extremely severe cyclonic storm Fani crossing the coast near Puri. It observed extensive devastation to vegetation in many places around Puri.

Several trees and electric poles were found uprooted creating roadblocks in the city limits of Puri. It was also seen that Puri railway station's rooftop had been blown off.  Large scale water flood was observed in many, particularly in low-lying areas between Puri and Chilka lake.
