Motor Vehicles Act 2019: When public asks policemen to pay fine for not wearing seatbelt

Ever since the introduction of the newly amended Motor Vehicles Act 2019. Motorists have been fighting the hefty fines imposed on traffic violations. In Bihar, it was a reversal of roles as policemen were caught.

Muzaffarpur: Locals in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, confronted policemen on September 13 for not wearing seatbelts while driving. Agitated crowd blocked the jeep of policemen asked them to pay the challan for not wearing the seatbelt. The new penalties with steep fines were introduced as part of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 2019 on September 1. And some have welcomed it, many motorists have expressed displeasure and claimed that the fines are not just hefty, but will encourage corruption too.
