Maoist killed in gunfight with Kerala Police in Wayanad

Wayanad: A Maoist was killed in a gunfight with Kerala Police in Wayanad. The gunfight occurred  around 8:30 pm on Wednesday which continued till Thursday early morning.

As per sources, a group of five Maoists reached Upavan resort in Wayanad and demanded money from the resort employees.

Meanwhile, one of the staff in the resort informed the police. As the resort employees refused to give money, the Maoist team started firing.

Later, police reached the spot. Two police officers were injured in the gunfight and one Maoist was killed. The victim was identified as CP Jaleel. More than 30 police officers are still in the forest and they are in search of the other Maoists.
