Mandya: A debt-ridden farmer from Mandya recorded a video before committing suicide. He requested the chief minister Kumaraswamy to supply water to the lakes of Santhe Bachalli that has run dry due to the acute drought in the district.
He said that he believed that Kumaraswamy will not just assure the people at his final rites but will take action and supply water to the dried-up lakes of the village.
Kumaraswamy visited the family and promised to fill the lakes with water soon. He also provided the family with a compensation of Rs 5 lakh and vowed to provide the victim's son, Chandrashekhar, with employment.
