UNESCO declared heritage site, Mahabalipuram has become the chosen spot for the informal summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Bengaluru: Mahabalipuram has often been a favourite tourist spot in Tamil Nadu. Nearly 11.5 lakh tourists had visited the Mahabalipuram in 2017. The town will now only be thronged by several lakhs more, especially Chinese tourists, who mostly visit Bodhgaya. All this, thanks to PM Modi’s informal summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping on October 11 and 12.
