'Lottery King' Martin’s aide found dead in Coimbatore after I-T raids

Coimbatore: An accountant at a medical college owned by 'Lottery King' Santiago Martin was found dead on Friday (May 3) on the outskirts of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, after the Income Tax Department questioned him. The deceased was identified as Palanisamy.

The I-T officials had questioned him two days ago as part of the searches conducted at 70 places belonging to Martin. Palanisamy was working as an accountant in the Martin Homoeopathy Medical College for the past 20 years.

The officers questioned Palanisamy on Wednesday (May 1) and during the interrogation, he allegedly cut his own wrist. He was immediately rushed to a hospital and on Friday he was discharged, but later found dead.

The Karamadi police who are investigating the case said that they had registered a case of a mysterious death. The police also told the media that the postmortem result would help to identify whether it is suicide or murder.
