Kottayam: Veteran Kerala political leader KM Mani's body will be taken in a procession from Kochi to Kottayam. Mani, one of India’s longest-serving legislators and representative of Pala constituency in Kottayam ever since its formation, passed away at a private hospital in Kochi on April 9. The body will be kept on display for public to pay their respects in his birthplace Pala by 6:30 pm on Wednesday. The funeral will be held at Pala Cathedral on Thursday (April 11) at 3pm. His body will be laid to rest with full state honours.

Mani was admitted to hospital for respiratory-related illness in the first week of April. He had decided not to participate in the election campaign for the first time since 1965 because he was unwell.
