Kerala: Speeding car hits two kids on their first day to school; victims critical

Kollam: On the first day to school, two children were hit by a speeding car at Anchal, Kerala's Kollam on Thursday morning.  They were rushed to the nearby hospital and their condition is critical. Three children, including a one-and-a-half-year-old infant, were left seriously injured. The injured are Noorjahan and Bismi  of Class 1, and Bismi's sister, the one-and-a-half-year-old infant.

It is the first time in history that schools for Class 1 to Class 12 opened in the state on the same day. Usually schools for Class 11 and 12 commenced in the last week of June or in the first week of July.
