Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rains and gusty winds lashed several parts of Kerala on Wednesday (August 7). The consistent downpour has wreaked havoc in the state.
Education institutions in Idukki, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasargod and Kottayam districts, including colleges and Kendriya Vidyalayas, will remain closed in the state.
A red alert has been declared in Idukki, Malappuram and Kozhikode districts on Thursday (August 8). An orange alert has been issued in Thrissur, Palakkad, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. Very heavy rain of over 240 mm is expected within 24 hours.
