Thrissur: Mannuthy Police in Kerala arrested Ratheesh on Friday with 125 kg of explosives. The accused was carrying 997 gelatin sticks in five sacks in a car. The police seized the car at DD Padi in Mannuthy, Thrissur. A day earlier, there was an Intelligence report suggesting that there is a possibility of explosives being smuggled in large quantities in Kerala. Following this, the Kerala Police started checking in the state.

The accused was presented before the Judicial First Class Magistrate-3 on Friday. Ratheesh reportedly told the police that he got the explosives from an individual in Palakkad district.

Ratheesh added that he was working on digging wells and the sticks were used to break the rocks inside the wells. But the police say that he doesn't have any kind of licence and the same sticks can be used as bombs with the help of detonators.
