Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala police officer R Sarath Kumar bagged four gold medals at the Asian Powerlifting Championship in Hong Kong. DGP Loknath Behra congratulated the Kerala police for his achievement. Kumar bagged gold in bench press, back scout, deadlift and total weight. He is presently a sub-inspector of the Anti-Corruption Bureau of the Kerala Police in Ernakulam.
Earlier, the Alapuzha native Sarath Kumar had won eight gold medals at the National Powerful Championship held in Kozhikode and Coimbatore. At the same time, he had also won a gold medal at the South Indian Powerlifting Championship in Pondicherry. In the 2018 Kerala Police Powerlifting Championship, he won two gold medals.
