Malappuram: Kerala's Youth Congress on Wednesday (July 31) organised a "lungi march" to the Calicut International Airport at Karipur in protest against Air India Air Transport Services Ltd interviews for conducting job interviews in Kochi for postings at the Karipur airport.
The youth Congress workers were seen wearing lungis and said that Air India Air Transport Services Ltd (AIATSL) was being unfair to the local people of Karipur by conducting interviews in Kochi. However, the police personnel blocked the protest march well ahead of the airport terminal building.
It is reportedly said that 187 vacancies were filled for Karipur and Kochi airports. Out of that, 93 jobs were reported at Karipur. AIATSL was recruiting staff for various posts and grades.
