Kerala govt to provide free ration for people in coastal areas

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Cabinet meeting on Friday decided to provide one-month free ration to the people of the coastal regions. The Cabinet took this decision after the sudden swell waves and sea erosion in the coastal areas. In Thiruvananthapuram, 20 houses were completely damaged due to rough sea and 100 houses were partially damaged.

The  Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an yellow alert in Kerala’s Idukki, Ernakulam, Malappuram and Thrissur on Thursday. IMD also predicted a heavy rainfall in the four districts on April 29.
