Karnataka: Tension grips Shivamogga after man dies in police custody

Shivamogga: A 46-year-old man was called to the police station for an enquiry in Shivamogga district of Karnataka. But hours later, his dead body was all that his family could take back. The family members alleged police brutality.

Baleswar, who was listed as a criminal in the area was allegedly called for an enquiry to the police station. When he went there, family members claimed that he was taken elsewhere in a police vehicle.

They further alleged that they don’t know what transpired, but are sure that he was killed in police custody.
