Karnataka: Statues of political leaders veiled in view of Lok Sabha election

Gadag: With the 17th Lok Sabha election coming up in April in Karnataka, the model code of conduct has been in full effect. The Election Commission officials have been making strides to ensure that all rules are followed. Officials on Tuesday wrapped the statues of former Janata Party leader Late SR Bommai and former Congress leader KH Patil among other landmark statues in Karnataka's Gadag district.

Late SR Bommai is the father of the BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai and KH Patil is the father of the Congress leader HK Patil.

The 2019 Lok Sabha polls will be conducted in 7 phases between April 11 and May 19. The election results will be announced on May 23.
