Officers prevented the wedding of 17-year-old girl, who is studying in Class 8 in Hosapete. Parents of the girl were made to sign an agreement stating that they wouldn't get the girl married till she turns 18.
Hosapete: Timely action by officers helped avert child marriage at Hosapete in Karnataka. Marriage of 17-year-old girl, who is currently studying in Class 8, was being held at Anjaneya Temple in Hosapete. Child development project officer, child welfare department, along with the cops, reached the spot on time and prevented the marriage from taking place. Officers made the girl's parents write on bond paper stating that they wouldn't get the girl married till she turns 18.
