Bengaluru: Gusty winds and heavy rains that lashed several parts of Karnataka on Tuesday (August 6), have continued to cause more damage in the state. Three people, one each from Shivamogga, Haveri and Belagavi lost their lives in rain-related incidents.
Schools and colleges continue to remain shut in Kodagu, following a red alert in the district. The residents of Virajpet and Kodagu witnessed landslide and heavy rain in the last 24 hours.
Madikeri alone has received 1,556 mm rain from January till August 6 while Virajpet and Somwarpet taluks have received 1,212 mm and 707 mm rainfall respectively since January.
