Karnataka: Gang posing as National Crime Investigation Bureau members arrested in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: A nine-member fake investigation team was arrested in Mangaluru on Saturday morning (August 17). The team comprised of four Malayalis and five Karnataka natives.

According to sources, the nine members were staying in a lodge in the name of National Crime Investigation Bureau. The car used by them also had a sticker that read ‘National Crime Investigation Bureau’.

The fake investigation team members were arrested by police during searches conducted by them in hotels based on the information that there could be attacks during the Independence Day.
