Karwar: A video of dogs being captured and transported to other places from Bhatkal, Karnataka, to use its meat for preparing biryanis went viral on social media.
But, reports claim that the news is false and the dog catchers from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, had caught the stray dogs in Bhatkal. The dogs had reportedly claimed a man's life a couple of days ago.
On Saturday (June 8) night, the dog catchers caught about 20 dogs from Bhatkal after the residents raised several complaints regarding dog menace. The dogs were later released near Bhatkal and Udupi border where they said there was less human inhabitation.
