Karnataka Congress, BJP MLAs come together to fight Koppal Police

Koppal: The BJP and Congress MLAs joined hands and expressed their anger against police who had filed a case against illegal sand dealers. The Koppal Police had filed a case against those caught while shifting six bags of sand illegally. The Congress MLA Amaregowda Bayyapur from Kushtagi brought the FIR copy and took police to task. He alleged that the police do not take any action against the sand mafia but target only common people.

The BJP MLA Basavaraj Dhadesugur from Kanakagiri also joined the Congress MLA and slammed the police. Both MLAs said that common people faced shortage of sand even too build their houses. The incident occurred at district administration building in Koppal in front of the mines and geology minister Rajashekhar Patil. The MLAs threatened to protest on tractors if the same treatment continues towards common people, while those involved in sand mining go unharmed.
