Karnataka: Chikkamagaluru villagers use coracle to shift dead body; video goes viral

Chikkamagaluru (Karnataka): Holekudige villagers in Mudigere taluk of Chikkamagaluru district in Karnataka are denied necessary infrastructure like roads and bridges. A video has gone viral on social media, where villagers can be seen shifting a deceased man’s body to his homeland in a coracle.

According to villagers Holekudige village, politicians had promised them to build bridges and functional road connectivity, but for the past five years, no development occurred in the village. Schoolchildren to patients are commuting through coracle on River Bhadra.
