Bengaluru: The issue of phone tapping, which has rocked the state of Karnataka, will be probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). This was announced by chief minister BS Yediyurappa himself.

A few days ago, audio tapes of alleged conversations between incumbent police commissioner Bhaskar Rao and Faraz, a middleman touted as a close aide of Congress leader Ahmed Patel, on the issue of lobbying for the post, went viral. Apart from this, it was alleged that chief minister HD Kumaraswamy had ordered that the phones of several disgruntled leaders be tapped during the episode in which they had flown to a Mumbai hotel.
