Karwar:  Medini village, comprising about 53 houses with 400 people, in Karwar, Karnataka, have to travel through slippery roads for about 38 km to reach Kumta sub- for any emergency. During rainy season, the roads leading to this village become a death trap.

Several people from this village claimed that no groom comes to this village seeking a bride as the roads are dangerous.

Half the stretch of this road passes through the Western Ghats. The people in this village grow a variety of rice which is used for certain sweets, but they fail to carry them to the market due to lack of transportation.

The villagers, from this hamlet, have given up hopes since no government has taken the initiative to fix the roads.
