Bhatkal: After arguing over the water dispute, a soldier's parents were assaulted with knives by their neighbours in Karnataka's Bhatkal district on Monday. The neighbour allegedly gave out life-threatening calls to the victims.

According to sources, the fight began after the water supply pipes were intentionally blocked and diverted to the neighbours' homes. Seeking justice, Manjunath filed a complaint with the zilla panchayat, who later warned the neighbours not to repeat this. Following this incident, the neighbours soon resorted to assaulting the soldier's family members with knives while they were rearing the cattle on Monday.

The accused are identified as Shridhar Thimappa, Narayana, Mahadevi, and Netra. A case has been registered with the Shirali police, and further information is awaited.
