Bengaluru: The government introduced a Bill in the Parliament to merge the two Union Territories of Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli into one. The two Union Territories which are located on India’s western coast near Gujarat were once under Portuguese rule before they became part of India. The Bill that was passed by the Lok Sabha is known as the Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (Merger of Union Territories) Bill 2019.
