Himachal Pradesh launches policy to buy back non-recyclable, single-use plastic waste

With single-use plastic banned in India, the Himachal Pradesh government has come up with a buy-back policy to help traders dispose of their old stock of the banned product
 

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh government has launched a policy to promote buy-back of non-recyclable and single-use plastic waste from rag pickers and households. The new policy will be effective from today (October 2). Department of environment, science and technology, urban development, public works, rural development, State Pollution Control Board and cement companies will make coordinated efforts for effective implementation of this buy-back policy initiated by the government. Minimum support price of Rs 75 per kilogram will be provided for its collection and deposit in collection centres.
