Just days ago, activist Mugilan, who was vocal in expressing that senior police officers had orchestrated the violence during the Sterlite protests in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, had been taken into custody. People’s Watch, an NGO now questions Mugilan’s whereabouts.
Chennai: Henry Tiphagne, executive director of People’s Watch has questioned the whereabouts of activist Mugilan, who had been taken into custody by the CB-CID just days ago. Tiphagne questioned the mystery behind where Mugilan was taken after being found on the railway platforms of Tirupati station in Andhra Pradesh. Mugilan had disappeared after a press conference in Chennai on February 15 wherein he had stated that police officials were behind the violence in Thoothukudi’s Sterlite protests in Tamil Nadu that claimed the life of 13 people.
