H1N1 spreads in Kottayam; 64 cases reported

Kottayam:  The increase in Influenza-A (H1N1) cases has put Kerala on high alert. Medical tests confirmed that two doctors in Kottayam, Kerala are suffering from H1N1 and three other doctors are currently under observation. Three people who suffered from H1N1 also passed away and the state has reported 64 positive cases for swine flu this year.

The state health department has advised people who show symptoms of cold, cough, fever, sore throat, chills and body aches to rush to the hospital for immediate attention. Following the increase in H1N1 cases, the state health department increased its information, education and communication activities to raise awareness on precaution and early treatment.
