Egmore-Kollam Mail back on track as Kollam Express after 18 years

Thiruvananthapuram: The regular daily service of Egmore-Kollam Mail, renamed as Kollam Express is back on track and will operate after 18 long years, from Tuesday (March 5).

As part of the request of Malayalis in Chennai, the train services have restarted. As per sources, Railway minister Piyush Goyal is set to flag off the train via video conferencing at 3:15 pm from an event in Dharmapuri during which he will lay the foundation stone for the 36km long Dharmapuri to Morappur new railway line.

Train Number 16101 Chennai Egmore–Kollam Express will leave Chennai Egmore at 5 pm and reach Kollam at 8.45 am the next day. Train number 16102 Kollam–Chennai Egmore Express will leave Kollam at 11:45 am and reach Chennai Egmore at 3:30 am the next day.
