Attari: Sikh devotees crossed the Pakistan border to reach India to visit Gurudwaras in the country for 25 days. A delegation of 45 Sikhs arrived at the Wagah border and will pray for peace between India and Pakistan while visiting the Gurudwaras in India. The process is called Nagar Kirtan or the Sikh religious procession. They will return to Pakistan on September 9. They will visit Gurudwaras in 17 states in India before ending their procession at Sultanpur Lodhi, the historic town in Kapurthala district, Punjab, where Guru Nanak had spent 14 years. They are visiting Gurudwaras on the occasion of 550th birth anniversary of founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak. The delegation arrived with the holy saroop of Guru Granth Sahib carried by Golden Temple head granthi Giani Jagtar Singh on his head.
