Shiv Sena is adamant on the chief minister's post and equal Cabinet seats in Maharashtra. BJP is maintaining that there was no such agreement with the Sena. If there is no solution by the end of the day, Maharashtra will have no other choice than President's rule.
The current BJP government's term in Maharashtra came to an end on November 8. Despite the fact that BJP has emerged as the single largest party in the state, it is short of 40 MLAs to form the government. The problem started after Shiv Sena demanded equal share of power and seats including the post of chief minister.
