With the aim to retain Chitradurga and Ballari MP seat and snatch victory from the BJP in Raichur, Congress in a calculative move based on caste roped in disgruntled Valmiki community leader from Molakalmuru, S Tippeswamy into the Congress fold.
With hardly a few days left for the MP elections, Congress roped in prominent Valmiki, an ST community leader, S Tippeswamy into the Congress fold on Friday.
Karnataka Congress president Dinesh Gundu Rao said that Tippeswamy’s entry will have an impact in Ballari, Raichur and Chitradurga Lok Sabha seats as more number of members belonging to ST communities reside in these reserved segments. At present, Congress is ruling in Chitradurga and Ballari. Gundu Rao said that Tippeswamy has joined the Congress without any conditions and will help us in all possible ways.
