Congress protests nationwide over Priyanka Gandhi’s detention in Sonbhadra

According to sources, the Congress is planning further protests nationwide over Priyanka Gandhi’s detention in Sonbhadra. In Fatehabad, Haryana Congress workers burnt an effigy of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
 

Fatehabad: Congress workers in Fatehabad, Haryana burned an effigy of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath. They burned the effigy as a mark of protest after Congress general secretary, Priyanka Gandhi was stopped from visiting the victims of the Sonbhadra shootout. The protesters also said they “won't allow democracy to collapse”.

The Congress is planning more protests nationwide over Priyanka Gandhi’s detention, according to sources.

Priyanka Gandhi, after meeting victims at Varanasi, was scheduled to go to Sonbhadra, but she was stopped in Mirzapur by police officials who cited the violation of Section 144. The section prohibits the assembly of more than four people in the area.
