Bengaluru: Taking a dig at the coalition government for issuing a circular to perform special poojas to appease rain gods, BJP Karnataka spokesperson S Prakash said that it was the Siddaramaiah government which had passed the Anti-Superstition bill. But, he added, “Instead of bringing into effect practical measures, the Karnataka government has asked all (more than 34,000) temples coming under the Muzrai department to perform special pooja at the cost of Rs 10,000 (for each temple) to bring in rain.”

Narasimhamurthy, a rationalist, also criticised the Karnataka government and said that the money being used for conducting special pooja should have been used to benefit the farmers.
