A day after violence broke out in Kolkata where TMC and BJP cadres exchanged blows during Amit Shah's rally, senior BJP leaders and ministers in Delhi on Wednesday (May 15) staged a silent protest at Jantar Mantar. BJP leaders held placards carrying slogans condemning the actions of Mamata Banerjee's government. This violence was witnessed on the same day (May 14) when the Supreme Court granted bail to BJP's youth wing leader Priyanka Sharma, who was arrested for allegedly posting a morphed image of the Bengal chief minister. The BJP termed the actions of the TMC government as a sign of defeat in the Lok Sabha election. The results of the election will be announced on May 23.
