Raichur: BV Nayak, a Congress MP from Raichur, Karnataka, took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he has done nothing to improve the lives of people.

Talking specifically about Modi’s Chowkidar campaign, the MP said Modi had failed to check fraudulent industrialists, who scooted to foreign countries after having taken humongous loans.

Going a step further, he also said Modi had issued a sum of Rs 6,000 to farmers, keeping in mind the upcoming elections. He went on to say that it was chief minister HD Kumaraswamy and former chief minister Siddaramaiah who had come forward to help out the farmers.

Reacting to the criticism, BJP spokesperson Sreenath Sheshadri said, “It is a desperate talk. It is wrong to lie to the people. All the loans given to the fraudulent industrialists were during the UPA rule. Kumaraswamy and Siddaramaiah have done nothing. Their talks do not reflect the actions they have done.”
